Rubric for Operations Project

Each criterion gets a value from 1 to 9, with 9 being great and 1 truly awful. The weights of the criteria compare their importance for the overall grade; they add up to 11. Multiply each weight by the value to get the score on that criterion; add them up. You'll notice that the maximum possible score is 99, resulting from 9's on all criteria. Then you get 1 free point!

Project Report 1 2 Analysis Provides careful analysis of problem, using operations management techniques learned in course study and reading.
Project Report 2 3 Field Work Shows evidence of adequate interaction in the field with organization studied. Interacts well with clients and shows perseverance and skill in facilitating their involvement in supplying information and access to the operation and its people.
Project Report 3 2 Research Conducts in-depth research on problems of client with its operation and its performance, using library, and internet resources as well as surveys, interviews, site visits, observations, measurements, and other techniques.
Project Report 4 2 Report Report is professional and clearly written; easily understood, interesting, and contains relevant pictures and cartoons. Executive summary is clear and brief, hits major findings and improvements, and provides measures of improvement.
Project Report 5 2 Conclusions Report indicates clear and executable recommendations for process improvements, and quantitative information on measurements that would mark success. Report attempts to answer in advance obvious questions of clients and executives.
Presentation 6 4 Content Content is clear and to the point, and covers findings, measures, and improvements recommended for clients and audience. Includes quantitative estimates of measures to be gained by implementing recommended changes.
Presentation 7 3 Speaking All team members speak; they express themselves clearly, are well informed, and polished. They exhibit knowledge of scenario, methods used in study, results, and quantitative improvements.
Presentation 8 2 Design The Powerpoint presentation is well-designed and easily followed. It looks nice. Listeners have a good reaction to it, and find it understandable and it holds their attention.
Presentation 9 2 Discussion The team creates participation and discussion of the issues, clarifies differing views, and facilitates executive understanding and discussion.
